CLEAN WATER & SANITATION

The infrastructure in poor communities is inadequate, and many vulnerable families lack proper water and sanitation systems. Issues like poor sanitation facilities, a lack of proper hygiene awareness and practices, a lack of access to clean and safe drinking water and poor waste management have a negative impact on poor families.

In Mongolia, water and sanitation are unevenly distributed. Many people still rely on water supply points for access to drinking water and use unsafe toilets located outdoors.

The “dzud” phenomenon doesn’t just affect the livelihoods of Mongolians living in poverty, but also causes great inconvenience in their daily lives. In particular, using outdoor toilets is a challenge in a cold environment, especially for young girls.
