Surviving in Troubled Waters

With nowhere to go and few who can help, young refugee Erphan is stepping up to help his family. Discover his story and see how World Vision is helping his family fight against malnutrition and hunger.

HELP CHILDREN FIGHT FOR THE BETTER!

Around the world, millions of children like Erphan have faced the worst the world can throw at them. Some have been scarred by disaster and conflict. Others have lived in poverty their whole lives, going without basics like clean water, food or healthcare.

The situation is different for every child, but they all have suffered great pain. Yet hope lives in their hearts and keeps their heads held high. They will push back against the circumstances that hold them back. And they can make it through. With our help. At this year’s 30-Hour Famine, we celebrate the resolve and fighting spirit shown by thousands of young survivors around the world. And we want to do all we can to help them not just survive, but thrive!

This year, we are coming together to raise funds that support Health & Nutrition, Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) and Livelihood interventions for children and families in dire need. Let’s Fight for the Better alongside them and help them achieve a brighter tomorrow!

30-Hour famine ambassador 2021

For the second year, Eric Chou is our 30-Hour Famine Ambassador! As the COVID-19 pandemic rages on, Eric has seen the growing needs of the world’s most vulnerable people and is ready to protect the futures of children in need!

“Over the past year, we have experienced unprecedented challenges and gained a new perspective on life. The pandemic has affected everyone; those who have already been living in poverty especially are facing greater challenges to their survival. During this difficult time, we must stay positive and optimistic, watching out for and helping each other. As long as we work together, we can overcome all difficulties!” said Eric.

Eric believes that love is the most powerful force, and that every bit of love we give can change the world! Be a part of the 30-Hour Famine today and stand with Eric Chou as we ‘Fight for the Better’!
