What is the 30-Hour Famine?

The 30-Hour Famine is an advocacy campaign that gives you the opportunity to raise your voice for those living in hunger and poverty!

Behind every crisis,
there is hunger and poverty.

Recent years have been marked by various global crises: COVID-19, heightened global conflict and climate change. This deadly cocktail of conditions threaten to undo decades of success in development efforts.

In particular, climate change has exacerbated hunger and poverty. By 2030, more than 100 million additional people could be pushed into extreme poverty due to climate change.

This year, we want to come together and unite our efforts to fight climate change!

The Future Starts with You(th)!

A climate-balanced and hunger-free world is possible, and it starts with you – the youth. Participate in the 30-Hour Famine to journey alongside the vulnerable and rewrite our future together.

As participants, you will spend 30 hours fasting and engaging in activities while raising funds for those impacted by climate change. Our programme this year can be customisable for individuals and groups of all sizes, in-person or virtually, so we hope you are ready to have an inspirational time!

Ambassador 2022

30-Hour Famine Ambassador 2022

Since his debut 15 years ago, popular Hong Kong singer-songwriter, lyricist, actor and clothing brand owner Pakho Chau has clinched numerous music awards. The accomplished singer is also an outstanding actor who has received acting awards for his work.

A multitalented star who works hard at his career, Pakho spares no effort in supporting charities. The father of two is particularly concerned about child well-being. As the 30-Hour Famine Ambassador 2022, Pakho hopes to use the power of his influence to raise awareness of the growing hunger crisis and invite everyone to join hands to help the most vulnerable children and families.

He said: “In recent years, we have seen the impacts of climate change through severe droughts, floods and other extreme weather events around the world.  All of these have affected the global food supply and agricultural systems, leaving vulnerable communities without sufficient food. It is imperative that we not only fight the pandemic together, but also overcome the challenges brought about by climate change. As long as we are united and act with love, we can definitely change the future for the better!”

Pakho believes that a beautiful world starts with you and me, especially the youth, who has the potential and power to change the world! The Future Starts with You(th)!
