In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, World Vision Malaysia will be introducing the 30-Hour Famine: Home Edition.The Home Edition will allow interested individuals to participate in the comfort of their own home. Materials will be provided and selected activities will be conducted online.

30-Hour Famine: Home Edition

Participants, who are also known as Famine Fighters, will NOT be required to fast from solid food. Instead, they will follow a tailored programme in the comfort of their own home. Children aged 12 and below are advised to participate in the 8-Hour Kidz Famine, a child-friendly version of the 30-Hour Famine. Family and friends are encouraged to support our Famine Fighters by donating to the cause.
Famine Fighters will undertake a 30-hour programme designed to help them learn more about the focus topics of the year. Exciting games and interactive activities will also be conducted online.
A child-friendly version of the 30-Hour Famine for young Famine Fighters! They will participate in an 8-hour programme to learn about issues affecting vulnerable children around the world. Child-appropriate materials will be provided, and parents are encouraged to join their children so that they can learn together as a family.

After submitting your donation, you will be prompted via email the next day to fill up an Information Form (includes your T-shirt size, shipping details and Super Famine Fighter nomination)

Level up and become a Super Famine Fighter

Challenge your limits and level up to become a Super Famine Fighter!

All Famine Fighters can become a Super Famine Fighter given the criteria below has been met: 

  • Share about the 30-Hour Famine to family and friends, and encourage them to sign up
  • Referred participants are required to provide the full name (as per IC) and contact details of the Super Famine Fighter candidate when they fill up their Information Form
  • Famine Fighters will qualify as a Super Famine Fighter when they successfully refer at least 30 participants by 29 July 2020

All Super Famine Fighters will automatically be in the running to win the Famine Awards (SEIKO watch & 65L travel bag):

  • The Famine Awards will be awarded to the top 40 Super Famine Fighters who have referred the most number of participants
  • If there are Super Famine Fighters who have referred the same number of participants, the Famine Awards will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis
  • Famine Awards winners will be announced during the Famine Weekend
First 400 participants who nominated for a qualified Super Famine Fighter will receive a 65L travel bag.

Low levels of education and a lack of livelihood skills have caused many to move away from home to work as daily wage workers

Nutritious food cost more. Those who cannot afford it suffer from malnutrition
