30-Hour Famine

As a 30-Hour Famine participant, you’ll make a real difference in three simple ways:

Fundraise

Raise funds with a donation booklet (for those above 12 years old) or a donation box (for those aged 12 and
below), or through an online fundraising platform. The funds you raise will provide children with the tools they need to survive and thrive.

Experience

Gain first-hand insight into the daily struggles faced by millions of children
living in hunger and poverty. While fasting is optional, for a more impactful experience, choose to abstain from something you cannot live without, such as taking showers, social media, or your devices.

Learn about global issues

Join a DIY Camp and discover global issues through meaningful and educational activities and games. You will also discover how you can do more and actively contribute to the solutions!

Upon completion of the above three items, you will receive a 30-Hour Famine Certificate!

How to Participate

You can choose to participate as a Camper or an Individual Participant. For a greater challenge, sign up as a Camp Leader and organise a DIY Camp! Whichever you choose, you will emerge as an informed global citizen!

shared soon.

Types of DIY Camp

30-Hour Famine

Campers will come together to learn about and experience the challenges faced by children living in hunger and poverty, while raising crucial funds for them. Fasting is optional, but for a more impactful
experience, Campers can choose to abstain from something they cannot live without.

This year, we offer three versions of the 30-Hour Famine DIY Camp. The materials are the same, the
only difference is the duration:

One-day (8 hours)

Ideal for first-time Camp Leaders, office workers organising a Camp at their workplace, those whose majority of Campers are first-time Famine Fighters, and those with limited resources.

Full-length (30 hours)

Suited for experienced Camp Leaders or first-time Camp Leaders seeking a challenge, those with spacious
venues and ample resources.

26 + 4 Famine

Content and activities are similar to the one-day and full-length DIY Camps, but Campers will spend 26 hours at a DIY Camp and the final 4 hour s at an
intimate Countdown Event in Kuala Lumpur with other Famine Fighters.

8-Hour Kidz Famine

A child-friendly version tailored for those aged 12 and below. Young Campers will raise funds and learn about the challenges faced by vulnerable children through age-appropriate activities – an excellent opportunity for teachers looking to engage their students with global issues!

Fasting is optional, but for a more impactful experience, Campers can choose to abstain from something they cannot live without.
