30-Hour Famine

As a 30-Hour Famine participant, or better known as Famine Fighters, you will:

Fundraise
Raise funds with a donation booklet (for those above 12 years old) or a donation box (for those aged 12 and below), or through an online fundraising platform. The funds you raise will bring hope to vulnerable children.
Experience
Gain firsthand insight into global challenges such as the hunger crisis, climate change, and conflict. While fasting is optional this year, for a more impactful experience, choose to abstain from something you cannot live without, such as solid food, social media, or your devices.
Learn about global issues
Join a DIY Camp and discover global issues through meaningful and educational activities and games. You will also discover how you can respond to the issues and actively contribute to the solutions!
Upon completion of the above three items, you will receive a 30-Hour Famine Certificate!
Bonus: The first 40 Famine Fighters to raise RM800 and above will be eligible to apply for the Famine Award generously sponsored by SEIKO!

How to Participate

Everyone is welcome to join! You can choose to participate as a Camper or an Individual Participant. For a challenge, sign up as a Camp Leader where you will assemble a team, recruit Campers and organise a DIY Camp! Whichever you choose, you will fundraise, explore global issues, and emerge as an informed global citizen!

30-Hour Famine

Campers will come together to learn about and experience the challenges presented by global issues while raising crucial funds for those in need. Fasting is optional, but for a more impactful experience, Campers can choose to abstain from something they cannot live without.

This year, we offer two versions for the 30-Hour Famine DIY Camp. The materials are the same, the only difference is the duration:
One-day DIY Camp (8 hours)
Ideal for first-time Camp Leaders, office workers organising a Camp at their workplace, those whose majority of Campers are first-time Famine Fighters, and those with limited resources.
Full-length DIY Camp (30 hours)
Suited for experienced Camp Leaders or first-time Camp Leaders seeking a challenge, those with spacious venues and ample resources.

8-Hour Kidz Famine

A child-friendly version tailored for those aged 12 and below. Young Campers will not only raise funds but also delve into global issues through age-appropriate activities. Fasting is optional, but for a more impactful experience, Campers can choose to abstain from something they cannot live without.
