We are an international Christian humanitarian organisation dedicated to working with children, families and their communities to overcome poverty and injustice.
We work to promote human transformation, seek justice for the oppressed and demonstrate the love of God for all people.
We serve all people regardless of religion, race, ethnicity or gender.

Today, World Vision is one of the largest humanitarian relief and development organisations in the world, with a partnership of offices in nearly 100 countries.

World Vision has zero tolerance for any violence or abuse against children and other people in the communites we serve. Although all employees and affiliates are obligated to report, World Vision holds that reporting is everyone’s responsibility. We consider any of the below as safeguarding incidents: 

  • Any abuse or harm happening to a child in the community World Vision works in
  • Any breach of our Safeguarding Policy causing children or adults living where World Vision has a programming presence to be in direct risk of potential harm
  • Any allegations (including rumours) or actual incidents of harm or abuse to children or adults living where World Vision has a programming presence, caused by a World Vision employee or affiliate

World Vision’s 30-Hour Famine is a global youth movement against hunger and poverty. Participants give up solid food for 30 consecutive hours to raise funds for children in need.

Every year, thousands of Malaysian youths and thousands more around the world unite through World Vision’s 30-Hour Famine to raise funds that will improve the lives of children and families in need.

Join a DIY Camp or be an individual participant to raise funds for the cause.

DIY CAMP

Today, more than 1.5 million young people around the world have participated in this life transforming programme organised by World Vision in various countries worldwide. We are glad you are now one of them!

The World Bank estimates that between 2021 and 2022, roughly 2.7 million additional Sri Lankans have fallen into poverty. According to the World Food Programme’s latest food security assessment of Sri Lanka in 2022, three in 10 households across the country face food insecurity.

3 major factors

affecting livelihoods:

Lack of technology, skills and resources for sustainable livelihoods
A lack of agriculture facilities, technology and skills lead to poor harvests, meagre incomes and reduced food purchasing power
Lack of capacity to respond to natural disasters
Droughts, floods and COVID-19 can disrupt the livelihoods of vulnerable families
Inability to meet food needs
Those with no job opportunities or low household income are unable to meet their minimum food requirements

Unstable household income
Apart from food insecurity, families with insufficient household income are unable to pay for their children’s education, health needs and more
Many relocate to find work
Low levels of education and a lack of livelihood skills have caused many to move away from home to work as daily wage workers

Nutritious food cost more. Those who cannot afford it suffer from malnutrition
