Are you passionate about children and advocating for their rights? Do you want to Fight for the Better? Are you up for a challenge? If you answered ‘yes’ to any one of the above questions, then we have just the cause for you!

At this year’s 30-Hour Famine, Famine Fighters of all ages can participate in the Individual, Friends & Family (F&F), or Community categories. You can also become a 30-Hour Famine Leader! All activities are designed to be online and offline friendly, allowing you to carry them out anytime and anywhere!

30-Hour Famine LEADERs

Step up and become a 30-Hour Famine Leader (You can be an F&F or Community Leader) and organise your own 30-Hour Famine F&F/Community Challenge! Through our online fundraising platform, you can invite your friends and family to join your 30-Hour Famine Challenge by signing up as a Famine Fighter with World Vision Malaysia. You’ll polish your leadership skills, make new friends and discover how meaningful advocacy can be when you do it as a team.

To be an F&F/Community Leader, you need to be:

– 18 years old or above
– Committed to the cause
– Passionate about people
– Hardworking and persistent
– Able to motivate and inspire

Here’s what you will be doing as a F&F/Community Leader:

1. Register as a Leader
  • Select the type of 30-Hour Famine Challenge
a) F&F Challenge
Famine Fighters can gather physically or virtually with their families or close friends (2-10 pax) to carry out the F&F Challenge

b) Community Challenge
Famine Fighters can gather physically or virtually with other Famine Fighters (11-50 pax) to carry out the Community Challenge
3. Organise your F&F/Community Challenge
  • Form your team – Every leader needs a reliable core team.
  • Recruit Famine Fighters –
    Your participants will need to sign up with WVM as a Famine Fighter and donate or raise a minimum of RM100 to support the cause. Encourage your participants to fast from solid food, beverages, or meat consumption for 30 hours together.
  • Plan your F&F/Community Challenge Programme –
    Make it an unforgettable experience! You can organise your F&F/Community Challenge anytime and anywhere you desire.
  • Carry out your F&F/Community Challenge –
    Together with the other Famine Fighters, you will learn about hunger and poverty, and fundraise or donate for life-changing projects.
2. F&F/Community Leaders Training
  • Come and learn what the 30-Hour Famine 2021 will bring, how to run your F&F/Community Challenge and tips on keeping your Famine Fighters engaged.
4. Join the Online Celebration on 8 August 2021!
  • The finale is an experience not to be missed! Join thousands of other Famine Fighters from all over Malaysia for an exciting two hours of activities, performances and learning more about the cause you’re supporting.

FAMINE FIGHTERS

Participants, known as Famine Fighters, can participate in a 30-Hour Famine Challenge in three different categories, physically or virtually. Famine Fighters can choose to fast from solid food, beverages (aside from water), or meat consumption for 30 hours. Family and friends are encouraged to support our Famine Fighters by donating to the cause via our online fundraising platform.

1. Individual Fighter
  • This category is for you if you have a busy work and study schedule with very little time to commit to activities, but still wish to help children in need.
  • Sign up as a Famine Fighter and donate/raise a minimum of RM100 to support the cause and get an official 30-Hour Famine T-shirt.
  • You will be introduced to three Challenges, which you may carry out anytime and anywhere you desire.
2. F&F Fighter
  • This category is for you if you wish to participate in the campaign with your close friends and family (2-10 pax per group).
  • Sign up as a Famine Fighter and donate/raise a minimum of RM100 to support the cause and get an official 30-Hour Famine T-shirt.
  • Join the physical or virtual F&F Challenge organised by your F&F Leader and carry out the activities together.
3. Community Fighter
  • This category is for you if you wish to participate in the campaign together with other Famine Fighters (11-50 pax per group).
  • Sign up as a Famine Fighter and donate/raise a minimum of RM100 to support the cause and get an official 30-Hour Famine T-shirt.
  • Join the physical or virtual Community Challenge organised by your Community Leader and carry out the activities together.

30-Hour Famine 2021 T-shirt

You will be entitled to a 30-Hour Famine T-shirt when you have successfully met the fundraising target of RM100! Just fill out and submit the T-shirt information form which will be sent to you via email within one week. You can choose to pick it up from us directly or have it delivered to you via courier service*.

*In light of the National Recovery Plan, the 30-Hour Famine T-shirt 2021 will only be available for shipping and self-collection after the National Recovery Plan is lifted in compliance with the Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs).

Droughts, floods and COVID-19 can disrupt the livelihoods of vulnerable families
Inability to meet food needs
Those with no job opportunities or low household income are unable to meet their minimum food requirements
